True Blue Patriots Inc.
We are an advocate for surviving families of our soldiers
Everyday traumas from war experiences can include the loss of one’s spouse, marriage, freedom, health, financial security, etc. We at True Blue Patriots recognize the severity of such traumas and are here to say, “We hear you and we care”.
True Blue Patriots Inc. was founded in 2010 by Somer Burgess after losing her husband to suicide in 2007. In response to the growing number of suicides within the Armed Forces, this civilian entity is geared toward addressing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). epidemic and the families that are affected by it. About 30 percent of the men and women who have spent time in war zones experience.
Additionally, 20 to 25 percent military men and women have had partial PTSD at some point in their lives. TBP offers these military persons including veterans, fallen soldiers, active duty soldiers and retirees and their immediate and extended families, programs and services that cultivate a safe and health-motivated environment.
Our organization’s goal is to make available as much assistance as possible to any family member or active duty soldier that requires and inquire about services. Though, we will focus mainly on the victims of PTSD and suicide victims, we are here to give and be the voices of the voiceless. Without an advocate or platform on which to exercise their thoughts and opinions, their stories will remain untold and unheard. We will provide this platform. We will be the trustworthy entity to help reassemble the pieces that are shattered and scattered after traumatic experiences specifically militaristic ones.
Men and women of the United States Armed Forces provide the protection, comforts, and freedoms that have become synonymous with the right to call ourselves American citizens. TBP is answering the call and deeming it, as founder Somer Burgess says, “A time for the people to give back and take care of our greatest asset, the American Soldier”.
